WELCOME to our Website!
We bid
farewell to our co-founder and trumpet hero, Gary Slechta! Gary will
be leaving the Texas Horns to pursue a new career in publishing and
working with his own compositions and arrangements. Gary has contributed
to the Texas Horns in many ways over the years and his terrific musicianship
and road comraderie will be sorely missed!
Replacing
Gary on trumpet with the horns will be Al Gomez. Al is a veteran of
the Texas Blues, R+B and Jazz scene, and nationally known for his
performances with Doug Sahm, The Texas Tornados, Los Jazz Vatos, Randy
Garibay, Johnny Nicholas, and many other great artists. We will have
more info here soon about Al, including pictures and bio! Glad to
have Al!!!
Kaz and
John will head North to Dallas on Friday, August 26th to accompany
Anson Funderburgh, Delbert McClinton and many others in a Granada
Theater concert benefitting Sam Myers. Sam has been a stellar blues
vocalist and harmonica player with Anson for many years, and is now
recovering from surgery. For more info about the concert please visit
Anson's website:
